Hello Everyone,

Yesterday, John Edwards made a speech that rocked the house at the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting. You can see it for yourself here: http://www.vsocial.co.... Senator Edwards asked if Democrats are ready to stand up - ready to stand up for families living in poverty amidst plenty, for universal health care and decent wages, for young people struggling to pay for college. He asked if we as Democrats are ready to stand up to Bush, Cheney, and Rove as they seek to escalate the war in Iraq and scare us into silence and political calculation.

Will you stand up? Will you take action?

Join us at the St. Louis John Edwards Meetup group (http://johnedwards.me...) and at OneCorps (http://onecorps.com).... We will have our next meeting on Sunday, Feb. 11, to plan our part in the National Day of Action later this month. I look forward to seeing you next week!

Best,

Hi Eric,

I'd like to join but don't know where One Corps is? Next Sunday sounds OK but I need more details as my night driving isn't the best. I do believe Edwards is on the right track and has a good shot.

I have a comment on the Iraq situation. The Dems have to step up and cut off funding. When people are dying in huge numbers you just can't keep writing resolutions that have no teeth. Stopping funding is the only way they can stop Bush short of impeachment. If everyone just keeps playing politics and worrying about their re-election nothing will happen, and our boys will be dying unnecessarily. All talk and no action is not the answer.

The Dems are already breaking their pledges and they've only been in control a short time. What's new? They weren't elected to be orators.
